Apple has released the fifth developer beta
version of iOS 11.3. This is available for developers as well as members
of Apple’s public beta testing program. This
update comes after one week after rolling out iOS
11.3 beta 4. The fifth iOS 11.3 beta has the build number 15E211a, whereas
previous fourth beta release had build number 15E201e.
iOS 11.3 is a major update and has
Apple's new battery management as a key highlight of the version. This feature
will notify users if their handset's battery needs to be replaced. Besides
this, Apple is also rolling out four new emojis -- a lion, a bear, a dragon,
and a skull. After this update, iPhone users get a total of 16 emojis at their
disposal. Also, the update will include a new version of ARKit, ARKit 1.5, that
is claimed to be more accurate in mapping irregular shaped surfaces, place
objects on vertical surfaces like walls and recognize images.
With fifth beta
being rolled out, the final version of the iOS 11 is expected to be rolled out
as soon as spring. This is also the case as in early June, Apple is going to
hold its annual Worldwide Developer Conference for software developers, where
it is expected to roll out updates to the four software platforms -- iOS 12,
macOS 10.14, watchOS 5 and tvOS 12. Incidentally, Apple has announced the date
when it will be introducing its first major product of 2018. The conference
meant for developers will be taking place from June 4 through June 8. Apple
will be holding the event at the McEnery Convention Center, San Jose, US.
It is possible to live stream the WWDC 2018 conference online through the WWDC app for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV as well as through the Apple Developer website or Windows 10’s Microsoft Edge browser.
